Becky and Josh met in 1993 at Josh’s 21st birthday party, and yes there is a story! They married in 2001 and have two grown boys that attend U of O.

Travel has always been a big part of their lives, and that always included searching out beers and breweries, or brewing themselves. They homebrewed in Alaska to offset the price of beer. They homebrewed in Germany becuase they missed IPA’s. And of course they got married in a brewery - Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee, WI.

A few years after moving back to Portland from Germany, Josh was diagnosed with celiac disease. After tasting Evasion beer and seeing the brewery for sale, we knew we couldn’t let the best gluten free beer we’d had go out of business. Production had already ceased 9 months before we took ownership in 2023. After purchasing Evasion and bringing the core styles back into existence, Josh has worked to build a diverse portfolio of flavors, striving to create something for everyone!
